[atrb=width,475,true][bg=242424] THE ORDER EXPLAINED |
Basileús - The Emperor The Basileús is the ruling entity, given the permission of the divine to rule. His word, unless within an assembly of his pack, is law. There is little to be disputed when his final say triumphs. He is to be protected at all costs, he is to be respected and nearly worshiped. For when he dies, he will join the gods. Selected by the consideration of the divine, he is above all. While indirect, any of the matter comes to him, and all who wish to succeed must come into his favor.
Somatophylakes - Bodyguards of the Emperor The bodyguards are chosen specifics through their proven worthiness, they are higher than the generals in ways that suit the Basileús. They are his trusted guardians who are never permitted to stray from his side lest given leisure. For the most part, unless declared by the Basileús, they are above most of the laws. Philoi - First friends Similar to trusted advisers
Trusted companions to the throne, a rarity to achieve. These are which are proven infallible, tested in cruel ways in order to keep them from ever turning on the Basileús. Privy to secrets, a key in bringing about decisions. They count as the eyes and ears of the pack, and are often given relaxed treatment in accordance to the laws. Hégémones tôn taxéôn - Army Generals Subject to the laws as anyone else, the respected generals are those who have proven themselves above all others. The ruthlessness, the capability. They are regularly granted audiences with the Basileús, and welcomed into some secrets. They are often rewarded for their conquests. General assassin, defense and offense, spy. All of these are required to train the unfit and preparing when not issued a duty. Hetairoi - Warriors Warriors who have shed blood and proven themselves, given any task that they believe they can handle. Responsible for holding the Empire strongly, communicating with allegiances and working with them, and bringing home the spoils of war. They are subject to all laws, and consequences for being deemed traitorous is taken as an immediate threat, and usually will be eliminated when found in contempt. Zero tolerance for those given praise and shown worthiness. Giatrós - healer The healer is a special title among the ranks, and respected. Their time is dedicated to the job, and they are required to present their knowledge. All poisons will be kept in a sacred place known only by the healer and the . Any sign of a lie, or a possible unknown origin illness within the ranks may be blamed upon the healer, unless the proof on how it could not be caused by a healer seems justified. Therefore, the healer runs the risk of being persecuted if a misstep occurs. Iéreia/hīereus - priests/priestess Those who wish not to participate in war and prove of spiritual use will be trained and placed in the caves of the gods, meant to build temples and help follow the path of the righteous. They are subjected to all laws, and are required to be at any gathering, offering their blessings. They are responsible for the memory of the histories as well, and a special place is offered among them if one happens to come forth as an oracle (requirement: an oracle will only be believed to be true if blind, otherwise deemed false and reduced to a slave for trickery). plebeian - commoners Commoners are those who are accepted and have not proven themselves of any particular value. They are not valued to high heights, however they are not subjected to cruelty. All are strictly restrained by the laws. Doúlos - slaves Winnings of war, or simply loners who come wishing and step into the territory. Upon occasion, the Basileús will take slaves for his own, but such are given certain designations and appreciation. They have no rights, they are subjected to ridicule. They cannot gain rank, unless astounding in their show of dedication and sincere devotion to the gods and their Basileús. νεογνό ζώου - young, cub The offspring welcomed in the world, trained and worked until their judgment day, when the Basileús decides whether or not they may live to see a second year (given a single year only to train to a certain standard) of life. If denied, they will be executed by their parents as a show of failure. Stray youth must be taken in and the adult will be held responsible for their mishaps until they reach of age. [/blockquote]
