Suffered the betrayal of Moon, who drove Julian to a breaking point, having him leave the valley while crushing Temeraire's spirits as well. Became revengeful, and went after Moon's would-have-been mate, rescued him and won him over. Watched best friend crack under the sadness of a traitorous friend and a mate who abandoned him, after the first fight with a dark beast, saw him torn up and looking for death.
